Suomisport is the sports community’s own digital service, used by individual athletes, sports clubs and national sports federations. The service is provided by the Finnish Olympic Committee as a member service for its member federations and the clubs operating under them.
All essential sports-related services can be found on the same platform and in a single app, making everyday life easier for athletes, parents, federation and club administrators, volunteers and coaches.
Suomisport is jointly produced by the Finnish Olympic Committee and the sports federations and has no commercial objectives. Suomisport is developed together with the federations and clubs based on user feedback and user needs. Suomisport has been developed since 2017.
More than 1,000,000 Finns have a Sport Account in Suomisport. In total, more than 4,000 sports clubs and federations have used Suomisport’s services.
For sports clubs and federations, Suomisport functions as an online store where athletes can purchase sports services or products. Financial transactions between athletes and sports organizations are handled digitally without invoicing. The total payment volume exceeded 100 million euros in 2022. This has saved time in federations and clubs by reducing administrative work and allowing more focus on actual activities — engaging children, young people and adults in sports.
Suomisport collects information about sports activities, demonstrating the societal impact of sports. The data has also been used for research, including THL’s public health promotion projects. The more sports, clubs and athletes use Suomisport, the more general, socially significant information is accumulated about physical activity and sports participation in Finland.
