Suomisport says that the personal identity code is already in use. Why is that?

In Suomisport, you always need a personal Sports Account in order to use the service. 

If you are creating an account for yourself or a dependent, and Suomisport indicates that the person already has a Sports Account or the provided personal identity code is already in use, it is likely that the account has been created earlier.



In Suomisport, each individual (such as an athlete) can have only one Sports Account. The service uses the Finnish personal identity code and contact information as means of identification. 


Same personal information cannot be linked to multiple Sports Accounts. The account may have been created previously by a club, another guardian/parent, or the child themselves while using the service.


Suomisport may also display an error message, "personal identity code in use," if the personal identity code is incorrectly entered. The personal identity code must be entered correctly, with the most common mistake being the incorrect use of punctuation (for those born in the 2000s, the punctuation mark is "A," and for those born in the 1900s, it is "-").

 

What to do:


1. If it concerns your own Sport Account, contact our customer service to resolve the situation.


2. If it concerns the Sport Account of a dependent, ask another guardian to check from their account if a Sports Account exists for the child. 

If the account is found, ask them to add you as a guardian. You can also request Suomisport customer service to create the guardian link.

PLEASE NOTE: For security reasons, adding another guardian must be done by the first guardian or by our customer service. Below are instructions for adding another guardian.

 


Instructions for adding another guardian in Suomisport: 

1. Log in to your Sport Account and navigate to the child's account.


2. Choose the option to Edit Your Information and select Add Guardian.


3. Check and add the Sports-ID number and last name of the other guardian.
The connection always requires the Sports-ID number and last name of the guardian being added.

4. Click Add Guardian, and the dependent's Sport Account will be immediately visible to the other guardian.
