This article explains how to send messages with Suomisport’s Communications tool, and what notifications people receive and from which events.
All club users can send messages using the Communications tool under Activity tools, and group administrators can send messages to the groups they manage from the mobile app.
With the Communications tool, you can send messages to the club’s member classes and groups.
Messages are delivered to the person’s Suomisport account and are most easily read in the mobile app or in the web version under the Messages tab.
Sending a Message with the Communications Tool
You’ll find Communications on the club home page under Activity tools.
- Click Send message.

- Select the recipients. You can choose one or more member classes and/or groups.
- Enter the subject and your message, then click Send message.
- Messages are delivered to the person’s Suomisport account and can be read in the mobile app or on the web under Messages. The person receives an automatic mobile app notification about the new message.
- When sending, a club user can also choose to send an email notificationabout the incoming message.
- The email informs the person that a new message has arrived and prompts them to read it in the Suomisport mobile app.
- Sending an email notification requires that the email address on the person’s Suomisport account is verified (i.e., they have logged in with email at least once).
- If the person is a child, the message is also sent to the guardian linked to the account.

Messaging by a Group Administrator
A group administrator can send messages from the Suomisport mobile app to the groups they administer.
- Open the Messages tab in the app.
- Tap Send message.
- Enter the subject and your message, then tap Send message.
- Messages are delivered to the person’s Suomisport account and can be read in the mobile app or on the web under Messages.
People in the group — and their guardians — receive a mobile app notification about the message.
