This article explains different options for what your club can do with a group or team when the activity season ends.
Scenarios when the season changes:
1) The group or team continues without major changes
- Suomisport groups are designed to be multi‑year. When the season changes, create new events (e.g., practices) in the calendar.
- Remove or move people from the group as the season changes. If people move from one group to another, you can move them on the Composition page via Move/Copy.
- Remove will remove the person from the group entirely.
- Create a new registration page if there’s room for additional participants.
- The group’s historical data—such as events, attendance information, and payment transactions—naturally remains in the group.
- Create and assign new Season Fees for the group. Do not edit an old Season Fee or use it as a template for a new Season Fee!
- Do not delete old Season Fees, or the payment data will be lost. If their being published is distracting, you can cancel them back to draft.
2) The group’s activities end
- When the activity ends, you can archive the group. The group’s data remains available in the club’s reports, but the group no longer appears to people who belonged to it in their Suomisport accounts.
- An archived group moves to the Archive tab. From the archive, the group can be restored to active if it resumes operations.
3) The group is deleted
- A deleted group—and the group’s data—will no longer be visible to the club or to people who belonged to the group. In other words, all data of the deleted group also disappears from the club’s reports.
- A deleted group cannot be restored to active or to the archive.
